How to use Jira Software

Sorry for sounding naive. I run a digital marketing firm in India and have downloaded Jira Software. Every time i run the download it throws an error as 'this file does not have an app associated with it' Can someone please guide/give me a call to resolve this issue and discuss the best ways to use the software?

Can I confirm what deployment type you're using?

Jira Cloud shouldn't be throwing this error as there's no file/download involved - it's a SaaS product so it just requires you to set it up via the Atlassian website.

If however you've purchased Jira Server (i.e self-hosted), you should ensure you've downloaded/attempted to install the appropriate version of the software for your OS.
