I'd like to have an automatic transition of the parent status according to the subtask status. I've tried various methods, following tutorials on YouTube and the Jira community, but I haven't had any success. I'm encountering an error message, as shown in the picture below, based on the rule I've set up. Could someone please help me identify what I may have missed or done incorrectly?
Thank you.
HI @Dee Minty ,
It looks like it could be your workflow. Check the parent and see if you can transition the status straight to Done manually. Sometimes these issues occur when the parent is in status which there isn't a straight transition to Done which causes an error. If that's the case, you may want to edit your work flow to allow from any status to transition to Done that there is no intermediary transitions that get in the way.

Hi @Dee Minty
Adding to Benjamin's answer...
For a rule like this, consider adding a condition to check if the parent issue is not already in a Done status in your branch. Given the upcoming changes to rule execution limits, that will reduce the "count" if the transition is not needed.
Kind regards,
Bill
