How to setup a custom field in Jira ? similar to the default description field

Hi All ,

Trying to setup a custom field in Jira which is similar to default Jira Description field . I am mainly keen to have the features heading selection , Bold , Italic , formatting , bullet points , numbers , tables .....etc options (Screenshot 01) for the custom field created

Screenshot 01.png

I have created a field with type as Text field (Multi Line ) , Paragraph (supports rich text ) but doesn't give me above option (Screenshot 02 and screenshot 03) , basically unable to format text ( bold , italic ...etc )

Any Options Please ?

Many Thanks

Hi @Hashmi Muzzammil

You will need to change the field renderer into Wiki style Renderer

  1. Go into Project settings,
  2. select Fields in the left menu bar,
  3. click on the  "pen icon" (for edit) in the upper right part of the screen,
  4. on your field select Renderers,
  5. In the dropdown select Wiki Style Renderer,
  6. press Update.

Thanks @Tim Kopperud  , Worked for me and really helpful.
