How to separate subtask from parent task.

Duulga Enkhtur September 6, 2022

When i create subtasks, it seems and moves together with the parent task. I want to just see all tasks and subtasks the same, as independent tickets to be moved on their own and ranked independently.

Stop using sub-tasks.  Sub-tasks are a part of their parent issue, not independent entities.

If you want to have issues that are independent of other issues, then create issues, not sub-tasks.

Hello @Duulga Enkhtur

I believe subtasks are not meant for what you need.

If I were you, I would use a different issue type in place of the subtasks, and link these issues to your main task with a specific link type, such as "is blocked by".

This way, all your issues could be moved and ranked independantly, while still keeping your hierarchy.

Kind regards,

Julien
