When I update the cloned Task from ToDo to Progress/ done, the parent task is also affected. How can I remove the link between them?

The reason I am doing this clone is to duplicate the tasks, as I have to perform the same task 10 times in a deployment. Any suggestions how to do.

Hello @Anil kumar Matta

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

When you say "parent task" do you mean the source issue that was cloned to create the issue you are updating?

If so, what you are experiencing is not default functionality in Jira. Jira does not automatically change the source issue in a clones/is cloned by pair of issues. If that is occurring in your environment then it is likely due to an Automation Rule.

To find out more about Automation Rules that may be affecting your you will need to consult with the Project Administrator for your project and possibly the Jira Administrator for your system.
