We've been asking for this feature for two decades... any ideas on a timeline here? The current workflow blows

I don't think it would be feasible to add an "open in new tab" button next to every link in the UI, although it would be nice in some places.

For me, on Windows, ctrl+click on link works perfectly fine. If you have a mouse with extra buttons, you can configure ctrl+click to be assigned to one of those buttons.
