How to delete a status in Workflow?

We are trying to remove the unused status from the workflow and its poping an error message as "Statuses can't be removed from active workflows".

1. How to inactivate the worflow to make this happen?

2. How to remove one Workflow Scheme when a workflow has two schemes?

So you need to make a copy of the current workflow and then go into admin/ issues/workflows to the inactive workflow section and at the bottom find your copy, edit it, rename it, remove the status that you don’t desire to keep any further. Then back in your project settings you can associate the newly edited workflow with the specific issuetypes that you desire. When you associate this new workflow if there are any issues resolved or otherwise that are in the status it was removed you’ll be prompted to choose which status to move issues to.
