A Status field used to be on the issue create screen, but today I found that it is missing. How can I bring it back?
Hi @Maneh Hayrapetyan
Welcome to the community!
Please follow this link : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69559
Some of you that changing the status field during issue creation may sometimes compete with automation you’ve set up, and admins may need an option to disable the field which will completely remove it from the Create issue. Please note, doing so will disable it across all projects in your instance.

Hi Sushant - I am unable to locate the "Edit Settings" from Settings > Systems in Jira Software. Wonder why?!

@S Fong Seems you don't have Global Admin permissions.

I do have the global admin permission to get to Settings > Systems but I just don't see an option on the side panel called "Edit Settings".

Due to some internal issues Jira Software Team temporary removed the Status field in the Create Issue screen.
For those who had access to the feature previously, it is now up and running again. We will continue rolling out the feature to everyone by the end of this week (customers in release tracks will need more time to see the change on their instances).
Thank you,
Ashish

You should now have the Status field again visible while creating issue in your Project.

Status is an automatic field and it is enabled on Create screen by the Jira Software Team. Due to some internal issues they temporary removed the Status field in the Create Issue screen.

A couple of days ago it was there, but now it disappeared. I thought that it was a Jira update but I asked my colleagues. They have Status filed on create screen. Here is the photo from my colleague.

Hi @Maneh Hayrapetyan ,
The name of the project is different:
1st screenshot --> The project name is: Core V2 (VC)
2nd screenshot --> Hacktech-MaxMarket (MXM)
If you will also try by raising the Task issue under the project Hacktech-MaxMarket (MXM), you are also able to see the status.
As Sushant mentioned you may refer the ticket for the best practice:

Thanks
