How do you use Jira Python to export tests of my project?

Question

I have a project to export QA tests on Jira using python + flask server.

I'm trying to follow this python api doc: https://jira.readthedocs.io/en/master/installation.html

However I started to wonder if I'm taking the right pass to achieve what I want. If there are better ways please let me know.
