How can we use the category option on a form?

I tried to create a form and it showed all the fields except for categories.

That is one of the most important elements of my issues and boards.

Do I need to switch that on somewhere?

The "category" field in Jira is derived from the project and is only there for searching.  You put projects into categories, and then you can search for issues with "category = X".  It is not a field you enter directly on to issues, it's a function of the project.

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Are you referring to the Project category field which is displayed in the Details section of the Project settings?  I interpreted the question as being related to the Category field from Jira Work Management.  I have the same question as @Purnima Gore .  I'm creating a form and want the category to be selected in form as they are submitting the information.
