I have Project XYZ, which is composed of Epic A, Epic B, Epic C. Within each epic there are tasks.
I would like to export all epics within the project with each task nested below each epic to a CSV. The ultimate goal is to get a view of the status of the tasks within each epic in spreadsheet form. (I am able to export all epics and stories/tasks, each having a separate line item, but there is nothing connecting a task with a given epic in the spreadsheet and they are not nested.)
Is this associated with CMP projects? If so you can use the epic link to associate the epic children to the epic. So you may need to use Excel‘s sorting capabilities to build it out the way you want but you should be able to do so.
if this is TMP you can use Parent in a similar manner.
f you would be interested in a third party add-on, you can try out Agile Tools. We have csv export option which exports epic hierarchy and progress based on story points and time estimates, as screen shot attached.
The add-on allows you to manage and visualize your Epics hierarchy with option to view all your custom fields on a single screen.
Key features of Epic Hierarchy:
Along with Epic Sum, you also get 2 other important functionalities within the same plugin, Links Hierarchy and Multiple Time in Status reports (to track your issues)
