Can someone explain what they mean here in the cloud docs by "Jira Instances"?

Hi @ernesto_davila

Let's say you have a huge organization called e.g. Atlassian (random name). Atlassian has already a jira instance under the domain (e.g.) jira.atlassian.net.

But then Atlassian acquires another company, Trello. Trello has another jira instance under the domain trello.atlassian.net.

The above are two different jira instances, which can be operated under a single organization. That's why you have organizational admins as well :)

Hey @ernesto_davila

On Atlassian Cloud, you can have multiple products in your organization. For example, you can have two Jira Software products (two instances) available on Site-1.atlassian.com and Site-2.atlassian.com, and you can integrate them using application links.

Read more about the links and organizational structure in the documentation:

I hope that this was already helpful. :)

Best, Max
