Custom issue type - child parent relation

Grace September 5, 2022

Hi,

We have added Custom issue type in our Jira board (deleted the default one).

Now how can i add the custom subtask issue type to be child of the user story customer issue type?

- Have already checked Manage issue hierarchy  its not working for custom issue type

- i am with the administrator role

- we are having basic plan

@Grace, by default, any newly created Sub-task, be it the custom issue type or the out-of-the-box issue type, can be associated with any issue type within your instance. Can you check the following items for me?

  1. Are you able to add any sub-task on all your primary issue types?
    1. If you can't, can you enable this in your settings and then try again
      1. Configure sub-tasks | Atlassian Support
  2. Is the new custom sub-task included in your issue type scheme for the current project.?
    1. If it isn't, you can add it up on your issue type scheme via project settings or modify the scheme directly on the issue settings page.
