Our company has switched from Jira Server to Jira Cloud. I've been using SSMS Boost to generate output in a format that creates a table when pasted into comments in Jira. The text looks something like this:
||test1||test2||test3||
|1|2|3|
This does not produce a table in the Cloud version as it did in Server. Is there a new formatting I can use in Cloud to achieve the same result as it looks in Server?
Hello tyler.jackson@nextgearsolutions.com
Welcome to the community.
Atlassian has been working on a new interface for the issue view and converted all JIRA Cloud clients to it as of March 31, 2021. In this new issue view wiki markdown is no longer supported. The do support limited markdown, but it does not appear to include a markdown for creating tables. See
I found this issue where they documented that they are choosing not to support wiki markdown.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69259
And I found this backlog issue that is still open where people have asked for a plain text editor option.

Be advised that on a per-issue-viewing basis you can switch to viewing that one issue at that time in the old issue view, and then the paste of the wiki markdown will work. You can tack this onto the end of the URL when viewing an issue
?oldIssueView=true
Or you'll find the option to view the issue in the old issue view under the meatball button at the top of the issue view.
Choosing that option doesn't set it permanently, though. There is no option available to go back to the old issue view permanently where wiki markdown could be used. You have to select this (or modify the URL) each time you view an issue.
Thank you for the quick and detailed response!
