Control of mass mailings by Robots

I would like to know if Jira knows how to distinguish when an email comes from a robot and rejects it, and does not consider it as a valid request.

Hello Diana,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

When it comes to Incoming emails for Jira Software and Jira Work Management projects, there is an option for bulk emails where they can be ignored or accepted. It will depend on the header of the emails.

For more information, please, check the documentation below:

This option only affects bulk emails, typically those sent by an automated service, whose header has the Precedence field set to "bulk" or the Auto-Submitted field set to "no". You can handle bulk emails several ways:

  • Ignore the email and do nothing
  • Send the email to the specified forward email address (recommended to prevent mail loops between Jira applications and other automated services)
  • Delete the email permanently
  • Accept the email for processing

If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.

Kind regards,
Angélica
