Complete sprint, issues marked as done are considered incomplete

Tomeka Gueory February 4, 2019

Hello All,

Our team recently completed a sprint.  We have many completed items (Done -Tested) swim lane) and there are a few still in QA.  I clicked the COMPLETE SPRINT button, but it reads that 0 issues were done and several are incomplete. What do I need to do to change this?  I planned on moving the incomplete items (since they are required) to the next sprint.

When I set the project up, I created 7 epics.

Thank You.

Tomeka

Hey Tomeka,

It's important to make sure that if you want your items to be considered as "Complete" in a sprint, they need to all be in the right hand most column. Any items that aren't in the far right column will not be considered complete by your sprint regardless of the status category.

As an example: In my board configuration, I have my right hand most column mapped to the status of "In Progress" and the middle mapped to "Done". This is normally not advisable, and I'm only doing it to illustrate that the columns are what determine "Complete" vs "Incomplete" from a sprint perspective.

Even thought my tickets in the middle column occupy the status of "Done" becuase they aren't in the right hand most column, two of my tickets are still considered incomplete when I go to complete my sprint.

Hi @Tomeka Gueory - is your Done status associated with the correct category?

There are a number of statuses we have in my org workflows that are green when you look at the status category- which means when something moves to one of the statuses it shows up as a completed item in a sprint.

Instead of moving the card to the Done column, try to select Done in the dropdown. It worked for me.

Thank you both for your feedback.

I see tickets in the right-hand column.  But, how do I verify the mapping so that DONE is really done?

I see the following in the workflow, but am not sure where or how to make the changes:

Thanks for your help.

Your workflow is fine as it is.

The issue is the board configurations. Navigate to your board, and go to the upper right hand corner. There should be something that looks like "..." . Click on that, and go to "Board Settings". Navigate to the Columns section, and validate that "Done" is in the right hand column.

It should look like this.

Mine looks like that:

Is there anything else that can be causing this?

Paul,

What status are the tickets in your sprint in? Can you confirm that you have tickets in your sprint that are in the "Done" status?

Thanks,

Kian
