Hi, we're looking into storing a limited set of developer metadata (SME details, skillsets) and I am wondering if we can create a custom table in Jira to store this data.  It would only be related to Jira as it could be connected by jira user id. Is this possible?  If so, how is this done?  Thanks.

@GStasuk if you have access to Jira Insight you could create a schema within Insight and connect the schema to the Jira Users through a reference object.

Hello @GStasuk

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Do you mean create a custom table in the Jira Cloud database? If so, the answer is no. We don't have direct access to the Jira database when we use the Cloud product.

If the data was stored in Jira somehow, how would you anticipate using that data in Jira or elsewhere?

Thanks so much @Trudy Claspill for the answer above.  Yes the data is not stored in jira it's just additional metadata for our developers to help them out when they are looking for additional knowledge/expertise across our organization of developers.  I will investigate alternative options.
