One of my Automation rules has been stuck in-progress for quite some time now.
Is there a manual way to stop the in progress automation?

I did. But that didn't help. I guess for some reason it was stuck in a loop and resolved itself.
Check the Audit logs for details!

Unfortunately, you can't stop the automation manually once it gets started. It will eventually run it's course and error out due to a loop or will get throttled.
The Audit Log should give you some details as to the problem.
I did. Somehow it didn't show any signs of delay. Probably a one-time bug
