Assigning a User as temporary team members

I am trying to add a team member to my project on a temporary basis. How do I do that?

Add them to the team when you need them, remove them when you're done with them.

That does not really answer the question I think you're asking, but I'm not sure my guess would be right.  Could you explain what you are using to say "this person is in this team", and maybe the further question I think you have.
