Advanced Roadmap Automatic Date Adjustments on Tasks

Hi Everyone,

I have created a Project Plan in Advanced Road Maps.  Is there a way to do the following:

Set it so that the dates automatically update based on the Estimation for the task or if I change a date on one task that it automatically adjusts the start and end dates of other dependency tasks much like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet does.  I don't have time to manually update every date for every dependency task or tasks that follow the tasks that I updated the date on.   Many times you Microsoft Project or Smartsheet you can change the duration of a task and all tasks that have dependencies on this task automatically adjust without any manual intervention.

Hello Jeanne,

Yes, you are able to use scheduling within Advanced Roadmaps. The scheduler uses the following factors to create a sensible schedule of your team's work items:

  • Estimates, and required skills and capacity
  • Team schedules, e.g. working in either sprint iterations or in a continuous flow of daily tasks
  • Work stages, e.g. whether activities can happen either in parallel or in a specific sequence in the plan
  • The sequence of work items, based on start and end release dates
  • The ranking of work items in the backlog
  • Dependencies between work items in the backlog
  • Configurable constraints, e.g. how many people can work in parallel on a story
  • The skills of each team member
  • Availability of teams and people, taking into account holidays

I hope the information above assists with offloading your current manual workflow.
