Based on my research it appears you can add a URL that points to the image. The URL would need to point to a location that would be accessible by the email recipients.
I also found this post that mentions a third party app for including attachments in emails. If the image cannot be made available through a URL for the recipients, you could look at adding it as an attachment with the third party app.
