API Token scope

durgaprasad kinthada November 30, 2020

Hi Team,

API token scope is organization level or project level. Where we can see is it active or not?

Any detailed description about tokens?

Thanks,

Durga

Hi @durgaprasad kinthada

API tokens in Jira Cloud are user-specific rather than being attached to a specific project in Jira. This means that any API token you generate from your account will allow you/your scripts to perform the same actions that you have permission to in Jira, regardless of project. You could think of these as a replacement for a password.

Documentation is available at this link, and you can check to see the active API tokens you've created (and revoke them if necessary) at: https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens

Cheers,
Daniel
