Unable to make "Site" apply to a visible field

I want to require users to pick a site in which the support issue is at.  When editing visible fields and choosing site, yes for required, and clicking update, it doesn't actually update the action.  If I click on view this request form, it shows the Site as (optional), not required, and I want it to be required.  I've attached a few pictures of what's going on.  Thanks for your help!1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

Hi Kelly,

I did some experimenting and here's what I found:

  1. If you make the field mandatory in settings and create a ticket from the admin side of JIRA or logged into JIRA, unless the field is mandatory under Issues > Fields > Field configurations
  2. When you make the field mandatory on the screen you're showing, if you go to the portal it will make the field mandatory:

Hopefully that helps clarify the behavior you're seeing.  If you're unable to get the setting to stick once you change the dropdown from no to yes, try it in another browser or another computer.  If that works you may have a browser plugin or cached data preventing the change from taking.
