We have our site set up and are testing it currently. We want to have a site on our online domain (example: servicedesk.oursite.com) point to the customer portal sign in page, so our users can easily remember our site and be able to find the sign in page when outside of our network needing support. However, doing so causes atlassian to throw up an error page that the site is down. Is this possible, or is there settings I should be changing elsewhere for this?
Hello Robert,
Thank you for getting in touch with Atlassian Support.
Currently, Jira does not have the option to edit the portal URL, but we have a feature request for it to be implemented in the future:
Create ability to customize the Customer Portal URL in JIRA ServiceDesk
We suggest you vote for the feature to increase its visibility.
For now, the best option is to use 301 redirects, here are some links that may help you configure it:
Change page URLs with 301 redirects
How to Properly Implement a 301 Redirect
Please, give a try and let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Angélica Luz
