I'm having trouble associating a custom screen I've created with a field configuration screen.  Wondering if I could get some help.

How do I assign a screen scheme to a screen?  Is there a way someone could remote in with me to see what I'm talking about?

It's the other way around, you gather together the screens you want to use for an issue in a screen scheme.  This can be as simple as "use screen A for all actions" or as complex as "use screen A for Create, B for View and C for Edit".

To do it, go to Admin -> Issues -> Screen Schemes and create a new one, then use the "add screen" button at the top right to add the screen(s) you want.

This is probably because you don't.

A screen is a list of fields to be presented to the user when they Create, Edit, View or Transition an issue in a project.

A field configuration tells Jira how to handle some behaviour of a field does for a particular issue type.

They are both configured in schemes that are applied to projects.  They have no direct link, beyond "applied at a project level, to each type of issue"
