We have Jira version 7.7.0 currently on prem. Will Jira Service Desk Cloud be fully compatible with it? If so, are there any instructions to get this to work? I tried the integration, but I am unable to see my jira projects in service desk to link issues.
There is no "compatibility" between them, it's not the right word.
You can link them, but it's not going to add much to your system other than a link people can click.
To see your "Jira projects in Service desk" and link issues, all you can do with a Cloud/Server mix is use external web links to link issues.
If you want to use internal links (including the SD "create and link" function), you need Jira Service Desk installed on the same Core Jira your projects are in.
You need to make a decision whether to run Jira on Cloud OR server, not both.
