Inheritance of Asset Object attributes with existing children

Hi,

today I saw the changed Assets view and had trouble to find statuses for my objects. I found out that I have to define the relevant statuses for an object type. I'm quite sure that this wasn't necessary before, but is cool since not every status is relevant for every object type.

Nevertheless I have a quite mature scheme and would like to add the relevant statuses to the parents. Jira won't let me activate inheritance since "child objects are already existing" . Is there a way to do this anyway or do I really need to do it one by one?

Best regards
