We are currently using Jira Service Desk (Cloud) with the Access app in Azure AD and O365 for user SSO.
Here is the process we would like to follow:
- Create a user in Azure AD
- A Group in AD is automatically updated with new users
- Sync Group from AD to Jira Service Desk to create and register user
- User logs into portal without having to create or register account
Is this possible?
Thank you for the help.
Hi Paul,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Currently, the customer portal does not work with SSO (feature request JSDCLOUD-630), so if you create a user and they go to the portal, they will have to create an account, even using the same email.
So, for them to use SSO to access the portal, when their account is created in Azure and then synced to Jira, an admin will need to manually add them to the project, this will prevent them to create a new account where they can't use SSO.
Note that this is only if the project is closed to only customers that admins add to the project, if the customer permission is set to "Anyone with an account", then you just need to make sure that they log in as any other user through xxxxxx.atlassian.net and not https://xxxxxx.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals.

Angélica
