IP Addresses used for Automation for Jira Webrequest

Matt Sywulak August 5, 2020

I was looking around to try and secure the web request were looking to add to our automation for Jira workflow and wanted to lock down the allowed IP ranges to specifically where those Automation for Jira web request come from.

I was able to find this site https://ip-ranges.atlassian.com/ but I figured that was for more than just Automation for Jira. Is there a range of IPs specifically used by Automation for Jira or will the linked ranges be the best bet? I figured since Atlassian bought Automation for Jira it may have been different but maybe they've fully integrated by now.

Hey Matt, great question.

The IP ranges listed on https://ip-ranges.atlassian.com/ do include the IP ranges used by outgoing requests (such as webhooks) from Automation. You've figured correctly; they are integrated now (using the same IP ranges). Using that list would be best for any allowlisting you need to do on other infrastructure.

As of 2023-08-17, the list at ip-ranges.atlassian.com contains 122 distinct IPs.

While the limit of IP whitelisting is 100.

So exactly how do we find out which IP is required?
