Hello,
Currently, the board I'm working with is a Team-Managed project. I want to know how and if I am able to change the issue type hierarchy. I am trying to add another issue type and move it to an Epic level so that I will have 2 issue types in the "Epic" level.
I do not have Jira admin access, but i have tried working with my Jira admin on this, we noticed that it was easy to do in a company managed project, but we failed to do it in a team-managed project.
- May I know if this is possible to do in a team managed project?
- If yes, how can I do it?
- If no, is my only option to migrate the entire board to a company managed one? I reckon this will be risky and might break some workflows potentially.
Hello @Derrick Lim
It is not currently possible with native Jira functionality to create another issue type that will have the same functionality as the built in Epic issue type. There is a very old change request, actually copied from a change request for self-hosted Jira, here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-80492
You might be able to get the same effect using a third party app that does portfolio/program management. I haven't worked much with those apps so I don't know which might work with Team Managed projects.
Thank you for the clarification, in that case I'll shelve this for now until the need arises.
