I tried to configure a new email support channel using the steps provided by the Atlassian documentation. Although, I'm still getting the below error:
Unfortunately JIRA couldn't connect to the mail server. Here is what the mail server said: "[ALERT] Please log in via your web browser: https://support.google.com/mail/accounts/answer/78754 (Failure)" Check out our troubleshooting docs for help resolving the issue.
I already enabled the IMAP in the Gmail account and I don't have the 2-step security enabled on this account.

First off, where are you setting up the email channel? It should be here - project>Project settings>Email requests. JSD email channel is different that what you do for JSW.

The issue is already solved. I was using a wrong port number.
After changing to IMAP Port to 993 and increase the timeout I was able to setup the proper connection.
