I am currently the Product Owner of a team that manages two separate Jira boards: one for the Frontend (FE) team and one for the Backend (BE) team. The team has proposed merging these two boards into a single unified board to streamline our workflow. I need guidance on how to accomplish this without losing any existing tasks, issues, or data from either board. Additionally, I want to ensure that the new board will allow us to continue our work without disruption.

I would like to:

  1. Merge the tasks from both boards (FE and BE) into a single board.
  2. Maintain all current information, including task statuses and priorities.
  3. Ensure that the workflow and columns from both teams are properly integrated into the new board.
  4. Use this new board for all future work.

Hi,

issue doesn't belong to a board, so you can create a new board with a filter that will retrieve all issue from the two team. Status, data on the issue won't be affected by this change.

Technically you can't merge board, you just create a board that will bring issue from the team A and the team B.
