Atlassian Assets - Link Text Attribute from Referenced Object into a Separate Object

Hi everyone,

I am currently configuring Atlassian Assets and trying to figure out the following: Object A = Hardware Model. Object B = Laptop Object

Object B
Attribute: Model Code - References the Name of a matching Object A

This is working correctly with my CSV imports currently. I want to find a way to reference an attribute of Object A (Text) in a different attribute in Object B.

EX: Object A has a attribute (Text) named "Model Name". Object B has an attribute named "Model Name". I would like the Model Name attribute associated with the linked object to be displayed in Object B.

In the first image this is the laptop object. Model Name shows None selected (its currently referencing the Hardware Model object). The second image shows the Model Name attribute in the Hardware Model object I would like to display in the Laptop object.

Hope this makes sense!

Thank you!

Hi @Dan Bruzzone , thanks for your question.

I have a few follow up questions.

1) Are you using Assets Discovery? Please can you clarify how these CSV files you want to import are being sourced?

2) Have you tried setting up the attributes to reference other objects and then exporting this as a CSV to see how the configuration works?

In one of my instances, you can see here there is an object with lots of attributes that reference other objects. If you set up, even an example, and then exported, this might help you unpick / troubleshoot to get the configuration you want  -

Hope this helps, but if not, please write back your feedback or follow up questions.

Cheers
