Hi,
I have just installed a freah Jira Servicedesk on a fresh CentOS 7.3.1611 and cannot get it to run in another machine's browser (CentOS is Core). It seems to be able to reach tomcat but waits until it times out.
wget on localhost gets the index.html, though.
Everything looks fine in catalina.out, I guess, and in atlassian-jira-gc-XX.log (except a bunch of [GC (Allocation Failure)].
I am really new to this (hence the evaluation) and I'm at my wits' end.
JC,
Is jira working if you try to access from the same machine?
If that's the case check if centos has iptables or some sort of firewall on.
Hey Gaston,
as I said, wget on the same machine works and gives me an index.hmtl.
iptables and firewalld are off on the server.

Some SELinux settings maybe? do you see something in the access log?

That's it! Thanks very much, Gaston!
SELinux was enforcing, I set it to persmissive now. (Should have seen that myself, sorry^^)
Thanks again!
