Slack notification when someone leaves a comment

Hi guys... could very well be user error here but I am struggling to get the Jira Cloud integration for Slack set up in a way that comments for idea tickets in my Product Discovery project are being sent as messages though slack.

For reference, we have the Jira Cloud integration working perfectly well for comments, updates, mentions etc on other jira projects where updates on Epics, Stories etc are sending notifications to Slack as we expect. I just can't seem to update this to include our Product Discovery project too so that notifications come through from that also.

Can someone point me in the right direction to how to best set up the Slack integration to do this?

Hi @Matt Serbyn ,

Under your JPD Project's settings >> Slack integration tab, you should be able to control what messages are sent to Slack such as comments:

I tested and it worked as expected, so maybe check those settings to see if they include adding a comment:

Hey Nick.... thank you that's helped me find the right place to get that sorted.

This solution will absolutely work for me, but I was originally looking for how I add another project to the Jira cloud integration we already have added to Slack.

Is this possible?

Actually, setting up as you describe I've also realise there is no update option for when a user adds insights to the idea either.

Am I missing something there or is there a way to do that?

Basically I just want to be updated if someone adds or changes any details to any ideas so myself and my team can keep up to date with any changes from anyone else in the rest of the business without needing to keep opening and checking every ticket.

Hi @Matt Serbyn ,

After doing some testing, I don't think it's possible at this time to send a message to Slack when a new Insight is added. I thought this could potentially fall under the Issue is updated part of the Slack integration's configuration - but that is not the case.

And unfortunately Insights cannot be used for automations, as it's a known limitation. So there isn't any workaround as far as I know.

I'll get a feature request entered with engineering in the meantime as I do see this being valuable for customers.
