Getting started with JPD and Atlas

Hello!

I've recently moved away from Trello to manage my roadmap to Atlas & JPD. I'm still on trial but looking to get started and see best practices on using it.

More specifically, I'm looking to see how I can better -

* Discover new ideas and assess their impact

* Plan in. quarterly horizon

* Share some form of a roadmap with internal stakeholders

* Reduce meetings and "status requests" with clear status updates

I would be happy to hear any recommendations, specifically how to get managers on board with such "offline" and "digest" updates vs. status meetings, and how the above tools might have help you

Hi Matan! Welcome to Jira Product Discovery.

1. Add ideas over time and use the many different fields types to estimate impact - Impact ratings out of 5, multi-select field for a list of customers who want the idea/feature, create custom formulae and more. This demo will be helpful Demo: using custom fields and views to prioritize and communicate roadmaps

2. For quarterly planning you can use the board view with a column for each quarter, or the timeline view to visualise sequencing.

3. You can add your stakeholders as Contributors for them to see the roadmap. We have more sharing features shipping soon!

4. I've seen things work well when teams commit to writing updates in Atlas, where they can be asynchronously consumed, saving everyone time from status meetings. The Atlas/Jira Product Discovery integration allows you to see the status of work from Atlas in Jira Product Discovery. You can add the Atlas field to your roadmap to show the latest status of work. See the Atlas integration demo here
