As the question states,
Is it possible to convert an Idea into an Insight to another Idea?
I have my customer-facing teams create Ideas without realizing that there exists an Idea already & that they should have added this specific customer feedback as an insight to it.
How can Product Managers convert that net new Idea into insight of the main/primary Idea?
Would merging 2 ideas make one the primary idea & the other an insight to it?
Hi @N Lalitkumar you can create an insight on the target idea and put a link to the other idea as the insight link. That's the only way I can think of to do what you described.
Hi @N Lalitkumar,
There's a couple of things you can do:
The idea will appear as an insight inside your other idea, like this:
Instead of adding the entire idea issue, you can also copy (parts of) the description on the issue and add that as an insight using the same browser extension method.
Hope this helps!

Thanks @Walter Buggenhout . If & when I merge the two Ideas, will the secondary become an insight to the primary? How do I ensure I get to that outcome?
The goal is to have the secondary Idea as an insight to primary- which I don't seem to be able to achieve.

No, you are indeed not able to achieve that. Ideas and insights are a different type of information. While an idea is a Jira issue, an insight is a piece of content added to an issue.
You can't convert an idea to an insight. I hope I have given you some options to bring the content of a duplicate idea into another idea. The option I shared using the JPD browser extension is probably what comes closest to what you are asking for.
