Creating Delivery Tickets in JPD does not automatically link them to the Idea

Levi Palmer November 14, 2024

I originally asked this question here, but was suggested to open a new thread.

Our team is having an issue when they create Delivery tickets from within a JPD idea. For example, one of our product managers (who has Creator access and a creator license) took the following actions:

  1. Went to the 'Delivery' tab on a JPD Idea
  2. Clicked 'Create a delivery ticket'
  3. Entered text, clicked 'Create' Result: A window opened
  4. Clicked 'Show Fields' and selected the two required fields for that project that did not default into the view. Result: those fields added to window
  5. Added the appropriate content to those to fields and clicked 'Create' Result: a ticket was created.

However the ticket was not automatically linked as a delivery ticket to the idea. The user had to manually do this afterwards. This doesn't seem like expected behavior.

Hi @Levi Palmer ,

I can't seem to replicate this behavior after requiring fields within a Jira project the delivery is being created in. I did notice it took a few moments for the delivery to link which is a bit odd, but again - the ticket did appear in the Delivery tab of the idea after.

It might be worth reaching out to JPD support for further investigation. You can reach them either through JPD under the Give feedback tab >> Get help from the support team option, or opening a ticket HERE if your plan offers it.
