Can i create a custom field in the view to show the last comment or a highlighted comment?

Sruthi February 7, 2024

I regularly use the JPD for communicating with my stakeholders and it is great to showcase info in a prioritised manner. But sometimes there is an additional info in a comment i have to share which could makes things more understandable.

Is there any way i can create a custom 'Field' in a view to automatically show the last comment or a provision to highlight 1 comment and that shows up in this field.

Hello @Sruthi ,

There are a couple of ways I can think to do this.

  1. Is to have a "Status Update" text field you can use to provide short comments on the idea. You are limited to 255 characters, but you can add it as a field in card view so that stakeholders can see it in your views. Using that field you would enter comments manually.
  2. You could automate the above rule so that any time a comment is left, it is copied into the Status Update field. That way you maintain some kind of audit trail by using comments.

Hey Shruti, maybe if you share a bit more about the use case, and where you currently get blocked with a real example, we could help suggest a path forward.

Would you be keen to share a bit more?

Best,

Amina
