Is there a Jira Cloud to Cloud Migration program in the works?

In a world where mergers and acquisitions happen more frequently, as more customers move to Jira Cloud there will be an increasing demand to migrate some or all Jira and Confluence Cloud content from one tenant into another.

Is there a tool in the works to support Cloud to Cloud migration, or is that on the roadmap for the tool currently in development for migrating Server to Cloud?  In my case, we have several Jira tenants and an on-premises Jira server that are planned for consolidation into an existing Jira Cloud tenant.

Hi @jason ,

Great question. The Jira Cloud Migration Assistant that we are currently building can only be installed on Jira Server to perform a migration to Jira Cloud.

The current method to achieve a Jira Cloud to Jira Cloud project migration (merge between existing Jira Cloud site) is as per this article:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/merge-multiple-instances-of-jira-cloud-779160767.html

We do recognize the difficulty with the methods above and also are increasingly receiving requests from customers for a better way to migrate projects between Jira Cloud sites.

While it's not currently on our roadmap, we are talking to customers and considering improving it for the future.

If you haven't already, please vote for this ticket https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72570 and I'll be sure to provide updates over on the ticket.
