Before the avatar by default was the 1st letter of the user name. But this has been changed.
With the latest upgrade from Jirayou we cannot update or upload a new picture for an avatar.
I tried several times and different formats with no luck.
Why is this?
Thanks,
Carmen
Me too. Obvious bug. But I reckon it's not high on Atlassian's priority list.
I'm having the same problem. Now it's more difficult to know who has what in our kanban boards.
Atlassian, please fix it!!!

I had the same issue, the solution is to create a new Jira issue/case after updating your avatar, once you click "Create" the Kanban board (in my case) was refreshed and my new avatar appeared across all my assigned cases instantly.

It seems that if you for instance deleted your profile picture from within Jira, you need to load your profile here for it to register the change.
At least that fixed my issue.
