Hi,
I'm an Org/Jira admin working on a company-managed project and just opened the sidebar view for an issue in a queue. I was curious about the Show Workflow User Guide icon because I've wanted my customers to be able to view the workflows, so clicked the icon (there's also a text button lower on the screen) and it displayed some interesting info but I also got an error: "Error getting workflow scheme information: undefined." The screen below is part of the sidebar screen for the issue, w/ the icon I clicked circled in green:
This screen is the Workflow User Guide screen that popped up w/ the error message, and the "loading" animation just kept spinning (never loaded):
I couldn't find any info in the Community, Reddit, StackOverflow, or elsewhere about this Workflow User Guide feature. Has anyone used this or had this problem?
Hi - I believe if you check your Apps, you'll see that you have this installed:
Smart Jira Configuration(formerly Smart Project Config Docs)
Huh, watching this YouTube demo, that looks kind of neat:
Hi @Darryl Lee , thanks for your response! I'm curious how you knew I'm using smart Jira Configuration (because I am!). Based on your response and that from @Joseph Chung Yin , I'll look into this app and connections to Confluence as possible sources of the problem. I appreciate it!

This is the correct answer based on the screen shots in the original post.

Hi @Susan Waldrip - I figured out what app you had installed because I'm good at Googling :-)
https://www.google.com/search?q=jira+%22Workflow+User+Guide%22
The app's listing in the Marketplace is the #2 search result after, ironically, this question. :-)

Hi Susan:
The specific button that you displayed in your screenshot is associated to "Link Confluence Page", so it may be an issue with your integration with your Confluence product from your Jira/JSM projects.
If you want to view the WF from the issue, then you can just click on "View Workflow" from the issue's status dropdown from the project UI.
For customers (by default), they will not be able to access the WF from the portal UI. Can you advise what do you mean by "wanted my customers to be able to view the workflows"? It is because customers will not be able to access the project UI's issue view screen.
Lastly, are you using a third party add-on that provided you with that functionality to expose the WF for customers? If so, you need to contact the vendor for further trouble shooting...
Please advise.
Best, Joseph Chung Yin

Hi @Joseph Chung Yin , thanks for the great response! I would like my customers to be able to see the workflows for their tickets but it's not crucial. I appreciate the clear info you provided and will look into the connections with Confluence to resolve this. Thank you!

Dear @Susan Waldrip
As @Darryl Lee says Workflow User Guide is a feature of Smart Jira Configuration(formerly Smart Project Config Docs) app.
The error you get is because your Jira project uses the default workflow scheme.
We deployed a fix and now it should work.
Hope this helps
