Is there a way to automate the creation of a Jira page when an issue is closed? Trying to build out a documentation space without having to do so manually. Thanks!
Yes, that is possible with the use of automation. Here is an example from the automation library in Jira
In addition to the built-in possibilities with Jira Automation, there are purpose-built apps for your use case.
Like these, both developed by established app vendor companies:
(The experience is usually that Jira Automation can be "good enough", but apps may give a more flexible, more sophisticated solution to the problem.)

@Clare Lawson , not only is it possible, you can even create it to use a template upon creation. In our Jira we have a Root Cause Analysis project where when we have a system issue that needs to be investigated people go into and create a bug. The image below shows the automation basics for that rule.
In the second image you can see that you are able to select the space it is going to be added to (as long as you have add page permission in that space. You can also select the parent page that you want your automated pages to be nested under and then you can select the template you want to be used to create that page.

You can create the page - as per Mikael's post - but there's a limitation on the feature that does not allow you to have that new Confluence page automatically linked in the ticket, which would be ideal.
The feature request for that is here:
