We have Jira Align and Jira Data Center integrated.
We have created "Why? Details (Text Field [multi-line])" custom field in Jira and mapped it via Jira Setting>Jira Setup.
I observe that "Why?" field is not editable in Jira Align. What could be the reason; pls. suggest.
@Vinay Sharma The values displayed when you view the Why? (By clicking the Why button) are populated from fields in different work items (Ex. Benefits, WSJF for Features). When you populate those fields you will see them displayed under Why?
Thanks @Sam Tsubota I did include the benefits under "description" but "Why?" displays only the name of the feature and bullet point with the below description
No value currently linked to this feature (jira epic).
Could you pls. clarify and elaborate how to fix it. Presently not using WSJF

You can see more about how the information in the Why? Panel is built out here:
https://help.jiraalign.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000799213-10X-The-Why-Button
It is based on information you enter in whole hierarchy of the work item. There are elements from story, feature, capability, epic, theme, and the Why? Panel shows any of the information that is entered.
If you're looking at a Feature, and haven't connected it to a parent Epic, there will be less information than if the Feature is connected to an Epic which is connected to a Theme.
