We have Jira Align and Jira Cloud integrated. Now we are reorganizing the programs, creating new programs and teams (Jira Projects).

Would mapping of an exiting team (Jira Proj) to a new program impact the running PI, with that team?

@Vinay Sharma there isn't an issue with mapping an existing team to a new program. There is a community article on how to do that.  Here is a link to the article.

If the new program does not use the same PIs and anchor sprints as the previous program in Jira Align, you will need to update the Program and PIs assigned to epics, capabilities and features that the team has work linked to in future PIs. In some instances, you may need to create new capabilities and features if multiple teams in the previous program have work linked to them. Also you will need to update the PI field for the team's orphan stories in future PIs that are associated to the old PIs.

I could notice the impact of changing the program for a team with running PI.

Mapping a team to a new program was causing team's disappearance from the program board of running PI.

Hence it looks like, will have to wait till closure of the PI or alternatively will have to create a new team.

@Vinay Sharma that is correct. If you move a team during the middle of the PI you may see some adverse effects to the reports and views in Jira Align such as what you described with the Program Board.  It is better to make this type of change at the end of a PI as you mentioned.
