We have an on-premise deployment of JIRA Align and we've recently been looking at using Objectives in our Programs to track milestones we're working towards.
I've been looking at testing out this idea before the teams implement and I've noticed that none of the user account types that we have, have the ability to save objectives. I can fill out all the information as you'd want but never get presented with the Save button as we do in other screens.
Is there something I'm missing that needs to be configured for the ability to create/save Objectives?
Hi there, @Chris Boersma Which version of Jira Align are you using now? There have been a number of changes in the Objectives area, and it's helpful to know where you are.
The System Roles grant access to different capabilities for Objectives. In Administration | Roles, you can give different roles the ability to Add and Save or Delete Objectives. You can see this here in this screen shot that the ability to Add/Save or Delete is turned off for this role. Therefore, they can see the Objectives, but they can't add or change (no Save button shown.)
One thing to note: If you turn on or off the permissions at one level, it turns them on for all levels. That is, if you allow the role to add Portfolio-level Objectives, it also allows the role to add Program and Team-level Objectives.
Let me know if this helps.
I'm glad @Sam Tsubota and I say the same thing!

@Chris Boersma In the system (user) role permissions, go to Program -> Manage -> Program Objectives and turn on the toggle Add/Save. That will enable the Save button to appear on the Detail Panel for Objectives.
