Can you stop a Jira Align Integration Request?

While trying to pull in a project from Jira to Jira Align as part of initial configuration, the project was not fully selected prior to hitting the run button under the "Jira Setting" and then "Jira Integration" tab.

Now the connector is trying to bring in issues for all projects that are synced in the instance from 01/01/2021. Does anyone know if you can stop the request before it completes? It has been running for about 18 hours now.

Hi @Olivia Rymer

You can't stop the synchronization job from UI.  Reach out to Jira Align Support https://support.atlassian.com/jira-align/ -- they'll be able to help.

Rodrigo is correct. The Connector synch job cannot be stopped through the UI.

Depending on the volume of work items retrieved by the background JQL, the job may potentially run for quite some time.  For example, if you requested everything in a very large project, dedicated to one team with 10 years of data in it, that might take a while to run. ; )

However, if you're synching data for one team on one board, you might just let it run to conclusion. You can then delete the data from Jira Align, with no ill effects. To do so...

1 - Temporarily disable the connector and remove the team/board mapping (and optionally the project if no other team/board in the project is integrated).

2 - Use the Grids (eg. Task, Story, Feature etc, but not the backlog) to locate all the work item objects.

3 - Select and Delete all the artifacts from Jira Align.

4 - Go to the Recycle Bin and remove the objects from the Jira Align recycle bin.

You can now safely reactivate the Connector.

Since the Team/Board is no longer mapped, no data will flow from that Jira team/board. Since you have deleted all of the objects in Jira Align, nothing can flow back to Jira from Jira Align either.

If at some later time, you decide you want to reconnect the board and project, you can do so without any ill effects.
