Hi Community!

I'm a Principal Product Manager at Atlassian, and I'm new to the JSM product team. Would love to introduce myself and build connections with those of us interested in all things HR.

We want to make JSM a powerful tool for HR service management, and I'm really excited to be a part of the journey. Before moving into Product Management a few years back, I started my career in HR transformation consulting. I'm super passionate about all things employee experience and first class help seeker experiences.

To kick off a conversation, what is one thing you'd love to see us build in JSM to better support the unique needs of HR?

Welcome Sam! We are certainly glad you are here!!

Would love to see a prepackaged Assets setup which would include schema, objects, attributes, etc. to help an organization get up and running quickly. To me, Assets will be the difference maker for HR related projects.

Thanks John!

We're certainly seeing a lot of use cases for Assets, particularly for processes like onboarding where they can be used to determine which software/hardware/access badges need to be arranged depending on the employee.

The more we learn about the core HR services that JSM supports the more we see opportunities for Assets to enable high maturity operations :)

Welcome Sam.

I've recently got a quesiton:

How many features in an electronic HR system can be replaced by Atlassian Enterprise Service Management solution? Which parts cannot be replaced?

One of my customers don't have EHR or OA systems. HR team sometimes complains about it. They're using Google Drive, Confluence, JWM & JSM to meet daily work and collaboration needs.

I'm just wondering whether they can still keep on going without anyEHR/OA systems.

Thanks,

YY哥

Hello YY哥, great to hear from you!

When it comes to replacing features in an electronic HR system with Atlassian products, it really depends on the specific needs and workflows of the HR team.

While our products can certainly be configured to meet these needs, there may be certain specialised features in an EHR or OA system that are not directly replaceable by JSM, especially for larger organisations!

We know that for larger companies, integrating with their existing ecosystem of HR apps will bring a lot of value and allow for more streamlined and automated processes.

Thanks,

Sam

I am currently seeking an HR solution. Although I strongly desire to keep everything within the Atlassian framework, I don't see how to retain competent HR staff.

I'll leave it to others to add specific components and workflows; in the short term, if Atlassian wants to stem the bleeding within the HR space, first buy or integrate with a good SAAS HR platform suitable for SMEs.

Great to hear from you, Steven!

We hear that retaining the best talent is top of mind for a lot of our customers, and HR tech has an important role to play! Have you explored any specific HR platforms that you think would be a good fit for integration with Atlassian?

Hi Sam,

Would love to see a direct HR integration for various HR solutions but particularly Breathe HR. I'd love to be able to streamline my HR processes by using JSM as the main place to manage users and have it replicated in our HR system.

Hey James, integrations is certainly something we hear a lot about and is something we know will enable a lot of operational efficiencies and great employee experiences.

There are so many great HRIS on our radar... I'm seeing a lot of new players in the market in recent years! How do you find using Breathe HR?
