How to connect to cloud HipChat server from CLI tool

Vladimir Ablin September 22, 2016

I would need list of all users from our cloud HipChat instance.
Was using:
C:\hipchat_cli\hipchat-cli-4.5.0>hipchat --action getUser --mentionName "@VladimirAblin" --server https://borderfree.hipchat.com --token "admin_token"

Remote error: Invalid OAuth session

Do you know why it failed - is it wrong token or connection?
Also how do I get only e-mails of all users in CLI?

You need a valid HipChat token - see How to Generate a HipChat Access Token. Email is not currently available from the HipChat remote APIs.

I've created token. Could it be the https connection that is a problem? Would hipchat --action getUserList will include e-mails?

Make sure it is the 40-character token as mentioned in the link. An old style token will not work. No, emails are not available.
