Right now, you can't build a paid app for Bitbucket Cloud unless I am mistaken. This is a blocker for vendors of commercial apps.
Is there a plan and target date to remove this blocker?
Hi @Aron Gombas _Midori_ - thanks for this question, I genuinely do appreciate it as every one of these we get helps me build the case for PvA BBC Apps.
I can't give you a specific timeline, but what I can say is that this is something I've been actively building a case for over the last several months, and the momentum behind the project to bring PvA to BBC is stronger now than it has ever been in the past.
The challenge for this is that there are a large list of external dependencies outside the BBC teams direct control which we need to get lined up before we can make it happen. Those things are slowly coming into place, but realistically I can't see anything being ready to implement by partners before mid next calendar year.
Thanks for the update @Edmund Munday
I think allowing deep and powerful extensions for BB Cloud could be a key differentiator to its version control competitors, which are currently actively targeting Bitbucket customers.
But in order for that to happen, paid-via-Atlassian is required. In my opinion, that should be enough to build a strong case for the upper management to prioritize this soon, given that the competition gets harder every day.
We are happy to help if you need any numbers to build the case and convince management to get the required support you need.

Hi Aron,
we use Stripe for the time being to unblock enterprise clients that need a commercial license. So far we haven't had anyone churn because of PvV, once you explain the circumstances.

@Ulrich Kuhnhardt _IzymesCo_ Ah, that's a great workaround!
But I still believe that the "right" solution would be PvA. Without that, it is extra work (integrating an external system, supporting customers with payment related issues, extra bookkeeping, etc.) for both the app vendor and the end-user.

I agree PvA is by far the best solution. Believe me @Aron Gombas _Midori_ - I have tried everything to get PvA for BBC apps.
I walked barefeet to Atlassian HQ, my naked body only wrapped in a cloth that had "PvA for BBCloud" printed on it (in Atlassian colors), chained myself to a tree downstairs and went on a hunger-strike for 2 days. No response.
Only _after_ all that I decided to go with Stripe :D

You tried everything. Now all we can do is to wait. :-D
